Domestic ice cream producer AS Balbiino’s new line of dairy ice creams, Balbiino Classic, increased Estonian sales of Balbiino family ice creams severalfold compared to last April and May. Sales of family ice creams, stick ice creams and waffle cup ice creams have all grown several times over. In just two months, 1.14 million Yeti waffle cup ice creams were sold in Estonia.
This April and May, Balbiino sold twice as many 120 ml stick ice creams as it did in the same time last year. Balbiino also sold 127% more family-size Balbiino Classic ice cream in this April and May than it did in those months last year. The Yeti brand of dairy ice cream, which got a new look this spring, has also grown in popularity several times over – sales of Yeti stick ice cream are up 132% compared to last April and May. The sales of Balbiino waffle cup ice creams grew 38% from the same period a year ago.
"The weather in April and May of this year tended not to favour sales of ice cream. The strong growth in ice cream sales this year comes courtesy of the new ice creams made from real cream from Estonian dairies, which appear to be a perfect match for the tastes of Estonian ice cream fans. We always say that our customers have the inalienable right to the best ice cream, and our new ice creams, such as the products in the Balbiino Classic series, certainly match this description," said AS Balbiino Sales Director and Business Manager Hindrek Männik.
"The best months for ice cream sales are still ahead and Balbiino is continuing to put effort into product development and marketing alongside producing better ice cream. Yeti ice cream sales will be bolstered in the coming months by a consumer promotional campaign, where the winner gets to travel to Disneyland Paris," said Männik.
AS Balbiino has done a thorough housecleaning in its product portfolio, putting the priority in product development on dairy ice cream production. For Estonians, dairy ice cream is in the place of honour and that is why Balbiino is marketing a whopping 30 new dairy ice creams. AS Balbiino’s dairy ice creams are made from real domestic cream and are free of harmful trans fats, preservatives and azo dyes.
Established in 1995, AS Balbiino is one of the largest Estonian ice cream manufacturers, and makes the confection from the freshest local ingredients. The company is 100% based on Estonian capital, is owned by NG Investeeringud and employs 158 people.
