1995. Established in 1995, AS Balbiino is one of the largest Estonian ice cream manufacturers. The company is 100% based on Estonian capital and is owned by NG Investeeringud. Balbiino employs a workforce of about 200 people. Fourteen years ago, Balbiino introduced family ice cream in one-litre package and ever since that time, the company's production volumes and renown have grown rapidly. Today, Balbiino ice cream product line includes more than 90 different items.
Product quality and consumer satisfaction are central keywords for Balbiino's activities. The company’s continuing popularity is confirmed by the annual growth in sales, continuous process of product selection renewal and positive feedback from the market.
To find the flavours that are most to people’s liking, Balbiino continues to use creative product development. Thanks to never-ending product development, shoppers can now choose from such new taste treats as the Dixi frozen yogurt line – made from yogurt produced by Balbiino itself -- Raks cookie ice cream, as well as Musi, Vanilla Ninja, Trull, Koorejäätis and many other favourites adored by ice cream lovers. It should be borne in mind that Balbiino’s entire production activity is based on domestic Estonian ingredients. Balbiino's main ingredients -- cream and butter -- come from Estonian producers.
Besides ice cream, AS Balbiino also markets various frozen foodstuffs. In this area, too, the selection has become significantly wider over the years. In both other European countries and Estonia, Balbiino markets products of renowned frozen food manufacturers such as Farm Frites, Hortex, Frenzel, Hiiu Kalur, Uvic, Marjamaa farm, and Viiberg. In addition, Balbiino owns the Culinare, Härmavilja and Marine trademarks.
Food quality is the sum of all of the attributes and properties of a product. Today, definite rules are used to measure and evaluate food quality. Balbiino has received the international BRC (British Retail Consortium) food safety and quality management certificate, and is the only Estonian ice cream manufacturer to conform to the standard. BRC certification covers Balbiino’s production of ice cream, food-grade ice, as well as wholesale trade and warehousing of refrigerated and frozen products. The existence of the certificate guarantees to both the seller and consumer that the goods are of enduring quality.
In addition to its everyday operations, Balbiino has for years considered charity activity important. The priority was placed on children and youth. Besides Tallinn Children's Hospital, a number of youth sporting and cultural events are supported. Balbiino’s mascot – Yeti the friendly snowman -- is instantly recognizable to almost all Estonian children.
